At Miss Fi’s Kingdom we do our best to create products that are eco- friendly and fairy approved. While not every component of every product is “green” we take extreme measures to find and use sustainable products. And while not all of the products come directly from the fairy realm we feel that fairies would approve of products that are beautiful, functional and have a sense of humor. I’m learning and discovering new ways of being greener. It is the small changes and efforts that add up to make differences. It is about sharing the process with everyone. Inspiring some to make changes and receiving new information from others to help me grow. I am CONSCIENCIOUSLY trying to make the world a better place for my child and the children that will inherit the earth. I want to restore the magic of fantasy and imagination into everyone’s lives with little tokens of creative energy. I might do it through the whimsy of a dainty bracelet, fairy tutu, or a card that is beautiful and unique. I want to share my passion and poetic side and hopefully make otherss blush or laugh at my wicked attempts at humor.
It is an evolving process like a book that is being written. It is like, The Never Ending Story, two worlds at once the practical/ reality of life and the fantasy/adventure to achieve.
Some of the not so eco-friendly things can’t be avoided at this time due to technology and price. So I make every effort to do things as green as I can when I can. As I use paper I will plant trees and use recycled paper and of course make sure to recycle myself in my personal and business life. I will always be working towards green changes in all areas of my life.
Education is the primary force behind change. Once you know something is “bad” it is hard to continue doing things the “old way”. So by educating others and myself I can see the water ripple affect starting to spread across the web of the Internet.
I’m creative I have a lot of ideas and things that I want to make. My inventory will always be evolving. Lots of my items are made to order or one of a kind. Thought behind it is, that small inventory is less production and therefore less waste of resources at this point. I’m not using a lot of resources to make things that people haven’t bought or ordered. I won’t have millions of cards that don’t get sold and thrown way like Hallmark does…I might have a couple hundred, but I will re-purpose them in some way to keep from wasting resources and only order from the printer when I have to. I will always keep my eyes out for re-purpose-able items and treasures that can be turned into new wonders or just given a second life, a next chapter. Many of these things will be found in thrift stores and donated by friends and family. Many of the beads come to me second hand and I’m looking forward to designing new items out of fabrics like T-shirts.
